My Review
What do you guys think about these "tiger nuts"? I was actually quite surprised at the way they looked as well as how hard they were. These are not really soft at all and do require a bite to get into them. Though the "surpreme peeled" variety is definitely so much easier to eat and the "premium organic" variety actually says to soak it overnight (though I don't prefer that variety). For me, these had a odd taste at first, it reminded me of wood and dry organic almonds. I did take a bit to just show you what the inside of it looks like which you can see down below. The organic variety is okay but you cannot just bite into them, you have to soak it then eat it that way. I do prefer the peeled variety just because they are faster and already done. Though the soaking variety isn't too difficult to do either.
Personally for me, I can't just eat them by itself just yet, they are a bit too plain for my tastes. Though if you combine them with other fruits and nuts into a trail mix of sorts, this would definitely be a great addition. Great source of protein, iron and other great vitamins/minerals that would definitely give you the satisfaction of feeling full and the extra energy boost. The website states that these taste like "coconut" but I find that in a way it is, though it is not sweet at all nor salty (you could technically add your own seasonings). After a while of testing, these tasted more and more like plain almonds or maybe even unsalted hazelnuts.
Overall I would say that this experience has been overall quite positive. I was a bit hesitant at first though the packaging does make it look very pretty and great as a gift. They may be look a bit scary or unappealing at first but after eating it a bit and adding some dried berries (I love dried cranberries), they taste pretty great. Definitely great for those who are strictly gluten-free as well as preventative care for diseases. What do you guys think?
