My Review
If you were wondering what "dematting" or "matting" is it refers to a dog's fur coat being tangled or knotted up. It isn't so much of a problem with short hair dogs but long hair dogs definitely can have that problem. Today I have for you to demo with a shih-tsu, as you know these are "long hair" breed dogs. As you can see from the photos of this product, it actually is quite gentle and the grip is great! The product is actually double-sided so whatever side you use, it will pretty much be the same thing. Overall it is very sturdy and gentle on the fur, even if their fur is long and difficult to manage!

Overall I would say that this product is fantastic. Sometimes it really is a pain to find something that will work (and last) when it comes to combing out tangles in your dog's fur. We already know that tangles in our own hair can be difficult to manage but imagine a dog's fur coat? Yeah you definitely need something built to last that will be strong enough to untangle their fur while still being "gentle". That was another problem with other products I've tried, they would yank out his fur or he wouldn't love it so much. Roscoe, the shih tsu actually is so relaxed as you can see in the photo, he is calm and serene after a soothing 5-10 minute session with this dematting comb! I would recommend it.

  6. I used to be an assistance groomer at a major chain pet store. Dematting was one of the BIGGEST recommended services from our clients. I like this tool cause it doesn't look as brutal as those metal teeth ones. I bet it's easier on the dogs skin.
