Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! Today I have for you a fun post. It's a show and tell post for my quick Five Below Haul. Do you guys have one of these nearby? Everything in the store is less than $5 and they have some great seasonal items. As usual, my interest was in the beauty aisle and I was able to pick up two blushes from the City Color Cosmetics line. I've never tried anything from this line before so I sure was excited! I got the City Color Cosmetics "Be Matte Blush" in the Shades Guava and Fresh Melon. I tend to like the coral/pink shaded blushes and these looked great! Let's get started!

My Review
I loved the colors of these blushes and loved that they are truly matte. They really are, no shimmer or glitter at all! I tend to like matte blushes and keep the shimmer job to my highlighter. As you can see from the swatches, they are absolutely beautiful. I purchased these from "Five Below" for $3 each though the website sells them for $4.99 (as of 6/7/15). I definitely think they're worth the price, they go on so beautifully, is pretty soft in texture and the pigmentation is pretty great as well.
The 'Guava' shade is definitely more of a pink-color color and perfect for the Summer time while the 'Fresh Melon' shade is more of a very wearable pink shade. For this time of year, I'm loving the 'Guava' shade though both colors are great. Though one point I'd want to make is that they don't last as long as I'd like. They definitely do last longer with a primer on. Overall I'd say that these are definitely worth the price and can't wait to get more colors!

LOVE the Guava! No we do not have a store like this nearby but I so wish we did! On second thought ... I go broke in a dollar store so maybe it is a good thing I don't have one haha. I wish we did though :)
ReplyDeleteThe Guava is beautiful! I grew up in P.A and we had a Five Below, loved that store. I never have really tried any of the City Color line before, but I have heard great things about it. Looking at their site, all their stuff looks nice. Love the vibrant colors and they are perfect for summer.
ReplyDeleteThe shades are gorgeous! I am more partial to the fresh melon as I see it more complementary to my olive skin. This is my first time to hear City Color cosmetics and would love to know more about them.

Those colors are stunning and the price is awesome. Fresh melon is my favorite out of them all. It is amazing what you find on sale when you really look!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a Five Below store near me. I've heard some good things about it. The blushes look like it's great quality and I love the colors. I like that they are matte. I am so tired of getting makeup that's loaded with glitter. Great haul!
ReplyDeletePretty shades! I'm not much into makeup, but I like the matte ones.
ReplyDeleteI love both of those colors. I think matte makeup looks better, so these would both be right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous shades! I don't really use these since I only use mascara and eyeliner. They're so pretty though!
ReplyDeleteSweet!! We have a brand new Five Below store just 10 miles from us! We haven't been in there yet because we didn't exactly know what was in there, BUT I will be checking it out soon!
ReplyDeleteI like this shades and the names too. These as so much better than pinks that make me look like a clown.
ReplyDeleteI don't use a lot of blush but I love these shades.
ReplyDeleteThose are really pretty colors! I love the guava and melon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to freshen up a look for spring. I like the two shades!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand before. I love make up more than most and could spend hours in Sephora and Ulta. I'd love to read eyeshadow and lipstick reviews the most, it's what I buy the most of.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spruce up your makeup for spring time!! These look like amazing colors and would go with any spring outfit. I have never heard of this brand before looks great and amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a makeup wearer, but the Fresh Melon is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think the guava will suit me. I like a makeup with a matte finish.
ReplyDeleteI do need more and this looks like a great blush http://www.parentinghealthy.com/
ReplyDeleteI think the fresh melon is my favorite. But the guava is a close second. I'm going to have to get these two for my date nights.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice eyeshadow color also, is it a bit creamy though?
ReplyDeleteI love these colors and will dual use a product. This looks like it would also be a great eyeshadow when you want that summer look. I have never heard of this store but checking it out on line :) Great review!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! It is quite smooth and can double as an eyeshadow! Even more, it can also be a lip color, just put a bit of vaseline and then put some of this blush on, 3 in 1 product! :)
DeleteThe Guava one is lovely, even the name sounds nice. I've never used this brand before though.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO JEALOUS! I don't have this type of store anywhere near where I live. If it did exist, I would be in huge trouble because I'd buy way too much stuff. I like the blush colors you picked for your review, I'm definitely a pink blush girl. Still, I want to see some of the bronzes that store has to over!
ReplyDeleteWow! I had no idea Five Below carried makeup - what a great post! I'll have to pin this for later to remind me to try it out! We have one about 45 minutes away from us, but I've never really made it a point to go in. Now? I definitely have to! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy wife is a huge fan of beauty products, i'm sure she would love this.
ReplyDeleteI love a great blush! Blushes is my must-have beauty product always if I wear nothing else I have to have blush and lipstick (and mascara). I love the names of the product and that it goes on as a matte is even better!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely colors that I would like to try. I don't wear makeup but I might for a job interview.
