Product Review: Francois Et Mimi Single Wall Glass French Press 50oz

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! Today I have for you another wonderful product! It's the Francois Et Mimi Single Wall Glass French Press 50oz! I drink coffee or tea every now and again but have never tried it using a french press. I have always heard great things about french presses and how pure and great the coffee comes out! Stay tuned for A LOT of pictures while I share with you the demo and the process! Let's get started!
About The Product
(From the product website and the product itself)
-Product comes in a 12 oz size, 34 oz size and a 50 oz size.
(I will be reviewing and demo-ing the 50 oz sized french press.)

-The French Press has an elegant chrome finish and works great with coarse-ground coffee or tea leaves. It also has a micro-mesh filter to get the best tasting drink!

-It is also dishwasher safe while featuring a no-drop spout and large size.

Demo
This is what it looks like if it was disassembled, just to show all the different parts.

Just a close up on the plunger top.

Add the coffee grinds/grounds to the bottom. The amount can be found on the package of coffee or whatever amount desired to your taste.

Now let's add the water in! They say to leave at least an inch of room from the top to prevent overflowing.

Okay now get ready to add in the plunger!

Just a close up of what the boiling water and the coffee grinds/grounds look like.
You can just place the plunger in but keep it up top for the "steam"/"boil" time.

Time to slowly push down the plunger!

Just keep pushing it down as far as it can go.

This is pretty much as far as I could go with this one.

Time to pour and enjoy!

My Review
Overall my experience with this french press has been quite positive. The process the first time around was a bit challenging but I got through it. You just need to learn how to use it and you're go to go! Basically from the demo you can see that you put the coffee grounds in or tea leaves if you prefer, add the boiling water and leave the little "plunger" as I call it at the top so it can kind of "steam" the drink. It kind of boils within itself down there.

The amount of time you leave it "boiling"/"steaming" depends on how strong of a brew you want. For me, I left it in for 5 minutes. I do also have a review up for the coffee if you're interested in that. Remember you have to use a grind that isn't too fine or it would just seep through the mesh and have coffee grinds in your coffee. Next step is to push the plunger down slowly, and you can see that the plunger keeps all the grinds or tea leaves at the bottom while keeping your beverage up top! Now you're ready to pour and enjoy!

Now that wasn't so hard wasn't it? It was actually quite simple once you understand all the components and steps. Now onto the taste of the coffee. I was so surprised at how authentic and pure it tasted that is pretty astonishing. The taste was completely different if made with a drip coffee machine or with my Keurig. I really do like the taste when made with this french press, it's fantastic!

I have also heard some complaints about the way this product is built and how fragile it can be. I mean yes, it is glass and it is quite fragile like with many glass coffee pots. I would say to keep it stored not too high up or in reach of children or pets to prevent any accidents from happening. For me, I still keep it in the bubble wrap just to be sure! Overall I think that this product is fantastic and I am a true believer and user of the french press. I would definitely recommend this to others.

  1. I got this as a review also but it is the stainless steel one, I am not a coffee drinker usually unless it has some tasty creamer but my husband and inlaws are, since we don't usually use a coffee pot (husb is a latte drinker) were excited to try this out!

  2. I love the fact that it has sufficient space for tea leaves, also that the pot can go right in the dishwasher! I haven't tried a French Press but I heard it makes coffee and tea so much better flavored. I want one now. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I love my press. I think it was divine intervention. I was at the store looking at Keurig machines when this guy appeared beside me, tight white t-shirt tucked into his acid washed jeans, long curly hair pulled back into a ponytail (straight out of the '90s, this guy), and carrying his own personal coffee mug in the middle of Walmart. He says "You don't want one of those." He preached the gospel of the french press like some wandering coffee evangelist. Anyway, I decided to give the press a try and it saved me a ton of money. I enjoy this coffee so much more than anything from a machine.
