Product Review: Dr. Song 20% Salicylic Acid Gel Peel

Hi everyone! I'm back with another great product! The title might sound a bit intimidating as it actually does "peel" your skin a little bit but no worries, I have fairly sensitive skin and this product didn't irritate me at all! It's the Dr. Song 20% Salicylic Acid Gel Peel. Basically its a serum consistency that helps clear up the first layer of your skin revealing more of an even complexion, less acne scars and imperfections. Let's get started!

My Review
Much like you guys are feeling and thinking right now is the exact way I felt prior to trying out this product. Scared and worried that your face will flare up, become super sensitive and have no results. I just took the chance and I am so glad that I did! I am in love with this product! I have used other peels and masks before for removing that first layer of dead skin on my face (yes we all have that unless we exfoliate and really cleanse the skin thoroughly) but I have had results nothing like this. My face looked so rejuvenated and youthful.

I have quite a bit of acne scars and uneven pigmentation but after one use I found that my skin looked amazing. I left the peel on for about a minute and a half until it started stinging a little. I let it sting for 5 seconds and washed it off with a face towel and warm water. I saw a bit of progress but I saw even more progress as the day went on. In about a few hours after trying it out, the dry parts of my face (I have combination skin with a oily T-zone and dry areas on my cheeks and chin) started to flake off. I was so amazed that I was left with a fresh, soft face.

I currently use salicylic acid in a cream for my acne but not a 20% concentration. After using this product about once a week or so I have noticed no large acne and my skin has been looking very refreshed. I am amazed at the results of this product. I have nothing but greatness to say about this product. As a wary first timer I can definitely assure you that this product works great and you will have results. Also there is a 365 100% guarantee so you really don't have anything to lose! I would highly recommend this product.

  1. You're right, the title of the product really did make me apprehensive. It's great that you were happy with the results it gave you though and that it was suitable for your sensitive skin. I prefer more natural skincare and have found my holy grail products from LUSH so I'm afraid I won't be purchasing this one but thanks for the review.

  2. I used a product like this when I was a teenager. I saw great results. I am going to check this out for my teenage and tween sons. They need some extra help!

  3. I have tried several of Dr Song products and I will continue to use them. Each one that I've tried does what it claims to and that's very rare. Thanks for sharing the facial peel, I love facial peels because my face looks so healthy (and glows) when I get ahold of a good one.

  4. I did sort of wonder about the name, but it sounds and looks like an amazing product. You mentioned that you use it once a week, is there a limit on the number of times it can be used on the skin? I know I need to be better as exfoliating my skin.

  5. Wow. Those are great results - no large acne and a refreshed face! Usually my face dries out with acne products too. I'm glad someone figured out how to make a great product for acne sufferers.

  6. You are so right - I was so worried when I read the product you were about to try! I'm glad you loved it, I too would now love to try it and have my face cleansed so deeply. I hardly ever get time to take care of my skin and this sounds heaven sent!

  7. I have not used a facial product like this before. I have always been to nervous to but I know my face desperately could benefit from it.

  8. Throughout my teens and early twenties, I had terrible acne, and salicylic acid was one of my to-go topical medications. I finally got rid of most of the acne when I did a round of Accutane about five years ago, but I could still use this for freshening and brightening my skin. Like you, I have some scarring from my past acne that I would love to smooth! Great review--I'll have to look into this product!

  9. Now that I have hit my 30s I need to use a product like this. Your skin looks great in your picture! I have been scared of having a reaction to the product, glad you didn't have one!

  10. I've never used a peel before, but I have to admit after reading your review that I'm very tempted. I have combination skin also and would love something to combat the dry areas of my face. I also really love that you didn't have any reaction to it on sensitive skin, because that's always my biggest worry with new facial product! With the old, dry weather we've been getting I feel like my skin deserves a little pampering too. Thanks for sharing the product, I think I may have to take the leap and try it!

  11. I've never heard of this product before at all. Of course, I don't really try out very many facial products, but that doesn't mean I don't want to. This made your face look really good from the picture you displayed. I must say you have me interested in giving this a try on my face. Like you I have combination skin, and it's rather annoying to say the least. Thank you for the detailed honest review.
