My Review
I am quite particular about my make up brushes, I usually get mine from Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, MAC, Real Techniques, Sephora, Too Faced and BH Cosmetics. So I do know the difference between drugstore brands and high end cosmetics. This product stands at a borderline for me. The bristles are soft and plush which have been fantastic. I really look for a natural, flawless foundation look when wearing make up. Currently I use my Bare Minerals BareSkin Brightening  Liquid Foundation (LINK) in the Shade Bare Buff 10 but I typically apply it with my fingers (applies better this way) and I buff it out with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush.

I found that this brush created an okay flawless finish, it didn't do so well on my nose or forehead but on my cheeks and chin I think it did pretty well. I tested this out with other products as stated in the product description (powder, bronzer, blush etc.) and found that it works even better as a setting powder brush, it is smaller and rounded. Also great for bronzer and concealer as it is tapered. It didn't really work out for me as a overall face setting powder brush (a little too small and tightly packed bristles, I like really fluffy kabuki type of brushes) or blush (I like fluffy and swirling my blush).

Overall I really like this foundation brush. It may work better or worse for you but for the amount you are spending on it (around $11 currently) I would repurchase it. The brush is sleek, soft and attractive. I like the way that it applies different products and the "semi" flawless application of it (well you guys can be the judge of that).

  1. Thanks for such an honest review! I very rarely use powder foundation, as I feel liquid has tended to work for me better overall. ITs great to hear the positives and negatives of a product though.

  5. I think at $11, it would be a good buy. I guess it's effective on some areas depending on a persons skin type.

  6. I have never used a foundation brush before but I recently ordered some new makeup brushes that I do use. I should try this foundation brush because I use powder foundation sometimes and I'd like to see how well it works on my skin. It looks really well made.

  7. Foundation brush? Hmmm sounds interesting and I bet you don't use as much with it do you? Hmmm Guess I'm just hard on breaking old habits, but I do like to try something new now and then. Seems to me it's one of those then times. :)

  10. I really love the look of this brush. Although I do hate it didn't give an allover great application. I'll have to look into it a bit more before purchasing.

  14. I wear minimal makeup but my daughter is getting her cosmetology license. I'll be sure to pass this information along to her so she can read an honest review about it. She has quite the collection of makeup brushes.

  15. I appreciate the honest review (about it being on the border), I have a chanel foundation brush and I just love it, but I'm in the market for a new blush brush (mine finally came apart - it's probably 15 years old. :) ).
